FROM BUILDER GRADE FIREPLACE TO MODERN FARMHOUSE FIREPLACE

We have waited so long to finish our basement. finally, I decided to participate in the One Room Challenge to finish this space. One of the biggest challenges I thought is this corner fireplace and small space. I wanted to transform this builder-grade fireplace into a modern one. I also wanted to add some texture as well.

Shiplap Plank

Nail Gun

We decided to use EliteTrimWorks MDF 8″ modern Farmhouse planks. Their Shiplap Planks were interconnected and creates perfect gapping between each plank. what i really like about EliteTrimWorks is they arrange video call with you for every purchase to help you out with your project. This is really helpful if you don’t have much experience.

Cut Out All The Planks To Your Desired Length
Start Nailing

we didn’t use any kind of glue.

As you can see above we decided to add trim in the corner and at the top to give it a finish look.

Fill Up All Nail Holes and Caulk all The Gap to Make It Look Seamless.

I needed to style it before I paint it. We also added floating shelves using brackets. I’ll show in another post and link it here later.

Here is my Fireplace, It was quite easy update. I am happy the way it has turned out.
